Abroad in Your Inbox Vol. 39

OMG WHAT DID I JUST DO…

I would not describe myself as rustic, outdoorsy or really any person who could survive outside for extended periods of time…So I’m not exactly sure what I was thinking when I booked a tiny cabin in the woods in the middle of nowhere with no cell service, wifi or really anything for miles around me…

But that my friend is how I plan to spend the first 3 days of 2022. ALONE. No phone. No internet. No distractions.

Oddly, I’m REALLY excited to travel in a way that feels utterly different than what I’m used to.

And here’s the honesty of the situation. I’m burnt out. 2021 was INCREDIBLE in every sense of the word but OMG I need a minute to be utterly alone and reset.

I’m really honest…I don’t think there’s been a stretch of more than 2 days in the past 10 years where I’ve been without a phone, internet, or feeling the need to document & share my life.

I want to know what it feels like to be alone with my own thoughts, not distracted, not obligated to respond or share, just to simply BE.

I haven’t decided exactly what books I’m bringing, how I’ll use the time or what I’ll do, but ultimately I’m just excited to start the new year in a completely new way.

I can’t wait to tell you what I think after I return but I’m planning to take at least the first week of 2022 completely off of social. I feel like I need to get back to creativity, get inspired and recharge. I think we all deserve that in the new year.
