Abroad in Your Inbox Vol. 35

IS TRAVEL BACK?!?

It sure feels that way! I’m writing this newsletter from the coffee shop at the Kimpton Rowan hotel in Palm Springs which is smack dab in the heart of downtown and I’m looking out the window and it is BUMPING…I’m back in the desert for some more work with Visit Greater Palm Springs and let me tell you this town is alive. Hotels are at capacity, the airport is busy & it kinda feels like EVERYONE is here.

A part of me is SO happy to see this return to travel - especially for a destination that’s so dear to me. But another part of me feels a little apprehensive about the upcoming holiday travel season and what it could mean for the current state of the pandemic. I hope that everyone who was unable to see loved ones last holiday season is able to do so safely but at the same time, I’m worried that airports are going to be CrAzY tOwN.

I mean just this past 2 weeks alone, Linda has gotten TONS of holiday travel requests from families and couples wanting to JUST GET OUT OF HERE. Which I totally get and has me thinking…should I go somewhere for NYE?!

I’ll be there and I wanted to share it with any of my fellow Chicago gals who love their wine & support small female-owned businesses.

CURRENTLY OBSESSING OVER

  1. CURRENTLY LISTENING TO: On Purpose with Jay Shetty - this podcast has been SO helpful to me in so many aspects of my business, life and personal relationships. From building confidence to figuring out how to use your time wisely and even some of the big mistakes we make when dating - he covers it ALL. Plus each week he brings on a new guest everyone from Mel Robbins to Jane Goodall and the interviews are fantastic. I highly recommend checking it out if you’re looking for a new podcast.

  2. CURRENTLY SHOPPING FOR: ALL THE CANDLES LOL. Anthropologie has my favorite candles discounted (plus other entertaining essentials) and you better believe I am stocking up right now.

  3. SHOPPING SMALL: The holiday shopping season is upon us once again and I hope that we all can make an effort to support our small, local businesses once again this year. I am re-sharing the list I put together last holiday season that featured some of my favorite small businesses.

HAPPY ENDING (AKA SOMETHING I FOUND FUNNY THIS WEEK)

Idk why I think it’s so funny but I always die laughing at travel influencers/bloggers/creators who share videos of them skipping around in whatever destination they’re visiting (also like…guilty…sometimes). So this reel had me rolling on the floor and also wanting to put my spin on it too hahaha.
