For the first time ever, we are offering two separate Gals Abroad Getaways trips that can be enjoyed individually, or combined as a single tour!

FIRST ON THE LIST: INDIA

Embark on a 12-day/11-night regal Rajasthan tour with Gals Abroad Getaways to some of India’s most enchanting destinations. Alle & Linda, along with our expert guide, will lead you on an unforgettable journey through some of India’s most vibrant cities. You’ll visit countless palaces and forts, visit one of the Seven Wonders of the World at sunrise (the Taj Mahal), and even stay at a former royal palace floating in the middle of a lake (among other ultra-luxe properties).

NEXT STOP: THE UAE (DUBAI & ABU DHABI)

Our second Gals Abroad Getaways trip is a shorter one, for those looking to experience the unique and ultra-luxe destinations of Dubai and Abu Dhabi. We will visit the world’s tallest building, catch the sunset from a private yacht, adventure into the Dubai desert & marvel at one of the world’s largest (and most beautiful) mosques. This 5-day/4-night trip starts directly after the India trip, which means it can be experienced alongside your India adventure or enjoyed on its own.

SPECIAL India CONSIDERATIONS:

• YOU DON’T MIND LONG CAR RIDES - One of the main modes for getting from one destination to the other will be by road, with some drives being anywhere from 4.5 hours to 5 hours. We’ll be driving on sometimes bumpy, rural roads to venture to these incredibly authentic destinations. For anyone who is prone to motion sickness, please be aware & keep this in mind when considering what is feasible for you.

• YOU ARE ABLE TO WALK UP MULTIPLE FLIGHTS OF STAIRS - one of the biggest components of traveling in destinations like India is that many historical monuments, forts & even some hotels require you to walk up quite a few stairs. While at every hotel we will have porters to assist with bringing your luggage to your room, you should be comfortable walking up anywhere from 1-4 flights of stairs.

• YOU LIKE TO TRAVEL IN STYLE BUT ARE EXCITED TO EMBRACE AUTHENTIC INDIAN ACCOMMODATIONS - Many of the hotels we will be staying at are anything but standard luxury hotels - but that’s what we love about them. They are former palaces & homes that have been transformed into luxury accommodations. That said at some of the properties, no two rooms will be the same. We chose these hotels because they truly embody the character of India. As with any of our hotel choices we prioritize safety, cleanliness, location, character, and above all else a capable & kind hotel team.

• YOU ARE OPEN TO EMBRACING THE LOCAL CUISINE - While we always do our best to accommodate our gal’s dietary requirements, certain aspects of our itinerary limit the amount of variety of meals due to set menus & culinary experiences. We will be enjoying Indian cuisine often (which predominantly features dishes with lots of spices, grains, legumes, dairy, vegetables, and meat). For those times when you’d like a break from Indian cuisine, many of our hotels will also offer Western/International options.

• YOU ARE PREPARED TO BE ON THE MOVE - In an effort to make the most out of your time in India, we’ve created an itinerary that aims to show you the very best of what this destination has to offer while allowing for free time when possible. That said, while some of the day’s activities are lighter than others, this is not a trip for those looking to kick back and relax for the entire 12 days (but we are happy to help with booking extra nights at the end of the trip for a little R&R if your schedule allows.)

• YOU ARE READY TO BE ACTIVE - This trip is for the intrepid traveler who is not afraid of long drives, lots of walking and sometimes being outside in hot temperatures. This trip involves a lot of walking, standing, and moving around in sometimes busy cities. Our gals should be willing and able to walk up to 4+ miles each day and be able to stand for extended periods of time.

• YOU ARE READY TO STRETCH YOURSELF AS A TRAVELER - India is a dazzling and incredible country but it can be an overwhelming destination to travelers whose only travel experience has been to North America, Western European countries, or the Caribbean. It’s a destination of dualities and any traveler who wants to visit should make sure you take some time to familiarize yourself with the culture prior to your trip.

SPECIAL UAE CONSIDERATIONS:

• YOU ARE WILLING TO RESPECT THE LOCAL CUSTOMS - The UAE is a Muslim country and while Dubai is by far the most modern of the Emirates, it is still best practice to remember to dress modestly. Plan to wear clothing that covers the tops of arms and legs, including the knees. Muslims pray five times a day, and during our time in the UAE, you will hear the haunting, lyrical call to prayer broadcast from nearby mosques. There is no expectation that you follow these prayer customs.

• YOU ARE AWARE OF THE LOCAL LAWS - Alcohol is served in the UAE, but only within licensed hotels and clubs. It’s illegal to be under the influence of alcohol in public. PDA (outside of hand holding) is a big no-no and and considered extremely offensive.

• YOU HAVE DOUBLE-CHECKED WHAT MEDS YOU CAN BRING - The UAE has strict, zero-tolerance anti-drug laws, and thorough searches are conducted at its airports. Even medications that are over-the-counter in some countries could get you arrested. Take this seriously and be sure to check the banned -substances list from a UAE consulate or embassy. Always carry a doctor’s prescription/note for any medication you plan to bring into the country.

They are former palaces & homes that have been transformed into luxury accommodations. That said at a few of our hotels, no two rooms will be the same. We chose these hotels because they truly embody the character of India. As with any of our hotel choices, we prioritize safety, cleanliness, location, character, and above all else a capable & kind hotel team.

TWIN BEDS IN ALL HOTELS EXCEPT IN JODHPUR

Whenever possible, we always aim to select hotels that offer twin-bed accommodation. In our second to last destination (Jodhpur), we have selected our personal favorite hotel - RAAS. The style, location, service level are truly unmatched. That said, they do not offer the ability to have two separate mattresses but instead will have a shared bed with separate linens. Please keep this in mind if you will be joining us solo & being paired with a roommate.

ROOM UPGRADES AVAILABLE ON REQUEST

Upon sign-up, we will be offering an option to upgrade to higher-category rooms if that is something that interests you. We will aim to pair you with another gal who has also selected to upgrade their room.

THE LEELA PALACE - DELHI

There is simply no better place to start our India adventure than the luxurious 5-star Leela Palace. It’s bursting with Indian and European furnishings, jaw-dropping chandeliers and modern luxuries that are a welcome sight after your long journey. The 15,000 fresh florals delivered daily (yes you read that right) are somewhat of a legend at the Leela. This property is a favorite amongst visiting dignitaries and is without a doubt one of the city’s best five star properties.

The exclusive Spa at The Leela offers an Ayurveda-inspired day spa menu (a must after your long flight) but do not miss the iconic rooftop temperature-controlled swimming pool with panoramic views of the city's skyline.

When it comes to dining, there’s no shortage of international cuisine to cater to whatever mood you might be in when you arrive. Housed in a modern glass structure, The Qube offers an international and Indian buffet with open kitchens surrounded by trickling waterways and manicured gardens. Other dining options include Le Cirque and MEGU & Indian food is served at Jamavar. Drinks can be enjoyed at the hotel's 2 bars.

THE OBEROI AMARVILAS - AGRA

One of India’s most celebrated hotels & named one of the top 50 hotels in the world for 2023. Oberoi Amarvilas sits just 2,000 feet away from the iconic Taj Mahal. Even more spectacular is that each & every luxurious room has an unobstructed view of this magnificent world wonder. India is renowned for its incredible hospitality but Oberoi Vilas takes that service to the next level – doors are magically opened, bags are carried, the welcome drinks are next level, and every room comes with a 24-hour butler service - you’re all but swept off your feet & carried around when you stay here.

JAI MAHAL PALACE - JAIPUR

This is one of two former palaces we will be staying at on this trip & prepare to be treated like royalty. This property dates back to 1745 when it was built for local rulers & is now a luxury property that also functions as a living museum. The former palace is set on 18 acres of landscaped gardens on a quiet street in central Jaipur, not quite in the middle of all the tourist action so as to remain peaceful, but close enough to get to all the main city sights.

Staying here offers guests the opportunity to quite literally stay in history while enjoying the modern luxuries of the 21st century.

RAAS - JODHPUR

This is by far the most modern property we will be staying at but it’s by far one of our favorites in Jodhpur. Raas is a hip & modern converted 18th-century haveli with an enviable location. Located within the 500-year-old walled city, this property is by far the Blue City’s most stylish hotel. It boasts one of the most impressive views of Mehrangarh Fort and has easy pedestrian access to the city's medieval heart.

The property truly comes alive at night & we highly recommend popping up to the hotel’s rooftop restaurant for a meal or even just cocktails.

Another special element of this property is that it sits adjacent to Stepwell Square, a regeneration project that has grown around Toorji Ka Jhalra, the rose-red sandstone stepwell built in the 1740s. Around the stepwell are several small boutiques that make the perfect spot to do a bit of shopping.

TAJ LAKE PALACE - UDAIPUR

We try not to play favorites here but in this case, it’s hard not to…we truly saved the best property for last. This is the second former palace we will be staying at but this property quite literally sits in the middle of Lake Pichola and can only be reached by boat.

Built in 1743 as a summer escape for the royal family, it was converted into a hotel when the Maharana started accepting paying guests in the 1960s. The transition to hotel has been seamless and the Lake Palace was even used as a key location in the Bond film, Octopussy (that title gets me every time haha).

While the saying is cliche at this point, you will be treated like royalty with round-the-clock butler service & exceptional Indian hospitality.

UAE ACCOMMODATION:

PALACE DOWNTOWN - DUBAI

You simply cannot beat the location of this property. Set in the style of a traditional palatial residence, Palace Downtown overlooks the dancing Dubai Fountain and the lake surrounding Burj Khalifa. Next door you’ll find the Dubai Mall which is home to more than 1,200 stores and restaurants, an ice rink, a cinema, an aquarium, an Emirates A380 airline simulator, and a 155 million-year-old dinosaur skeleton (because why not?!).

The guest rooms of the Palace Downtown Hotel are decorated in a contemporary Middle Eastern style and offer balconies and luxury bathrooms. Four different restaurants provide fine dining opportunities, ranging from Argentinian meat to Thai curries. All-day eateries serve a buffet of Mediterranean and Middle Eastern dishes.

KEEPING OUR GALS ABROAD SAFE:

• All Gals Abroad Getaways travelers are required to be fully vaccinated (at least 2 full weeks) prior to travel.

  • this could mean booster shots might be required depending on your vaccination status & the current country's policy

  • We reserve the right to ask for proof at any time.

  • We strongly suggest you bring proof of vaccination with you on the trip and keep a digital copy on your phone at all times.

• Our tours have always been limited to small groups of women and we often opt for private transfers, tours & when possible stay at small boutique hotels.

• Our travel agency (Scorby Travel & Cruise) will assist you in purchasing the required travel insurance policies.

WHAT IS THE CANCELLATION POLICY?

If this trip needs to be canceled for any COVID 19 reasons, we will reschedule this itinerary to a future date OR your funds will be applied to a future Gals Abroad Getaways trip.

Cancellations for any other circumstances need to be reviewed on an individualized basis as described within your mandatory travel insurance policy provisions (which Scorby Travel & Cruise will assist you in purchasing).

• Can I come solo?

  • YES OF COURSE (that’s what most of our gals do)! Please make a note of this on your registration & we will always work to pair you with a fellow solo traveler. If we cannot find you a roommate, you would have the option to join & pay a single supplement fee or opt to join us at a later date. Email galsabroadgetaways@gmail.com if you have any questions!

• How much free time will we have?

  • Very similar to our Morocco Getaway, this destination lends itself to a more guided tour due to the number of destinations we are visiting and the location of our hotels. That said, we always offer opportunities where possible to opt into extra activities & optional dinners to make sure that you get to do exactly as you please. You will be given a few evenings & lunches to dine at your leisure & some free time in both Delhi & Jaipur (we of course will have plenty of suggestions for you). Our time in Dubai will be very full as we want to make the most of your 5 days.

  • If you feel like you would like to have some time to explore either destination deeper we are more than happy to chat with you about arriving early or staying late & can help you with your pre/post travel plans.

• Can I come early or stay late?

  • ABSOLUTELY! Many of our gals either come in a day early or extend their getaways by a few days or even tack on other travel plans. We are always happy to assist in your planning/booking if you’d like the help. Shoot us an email galsabroadgetaways@gmail.com

• I want to have a room to myself, is that an option?

  • Absolutely. Keep in mind this is what is called a “single supplement”, you can find the additional cost of rooming by yourself in the pricing and inclusions section. If you have questions, please email galsabroadgetaways@gmail.com

• What is the activity level?

  • This trip is for the intrepid traveler who is not afraid of long drives on uneven roads, lots of walking and sometimes being outside in hot temperatures. This trip involves a lot of walking, standing, and moving around in sometimes busy cities. We always do our best to accommodate all travelers, and will have private transport to and from activities but keep in mind that due to Indian infrastructure some days it will be easier & quicker to walk.

  • Our gals should be willing and able to walk up to 4+ miles each day and be able to stand for extended periods of time. If you have any concerns or questions about the activity level of this trip please shoot us an email at galsabroadgetaways@gmail.com before booking. Our top priority is your safety & ability to enjoy this tour as intended. By signing up for any of our trips, you agree to and understand that a certain level of physical fitness is required to safely participate in this itinerary.

• Is there an age requirement/limit for this trip?

  • You must be 21 years of age or older to join any Gals Abroad Getaway. While we do not have an age limit we do suggest that anyone joining this trip be comfortable with walking up to 4+ miles each day, up and down stairs at historical monuments, and be able to stand for extended periods of time. This is an active trip & we will be on the move A LOT so please make sure you are up to lots of location changes, long car rides, & traveling at a quicker pace.

• What should I pack?

  • Don’t you worry, in true Alle Abroad style I will send out a packing list well in advance to those attending so that you have PLENTY of time to shop and plan so you can feel your most fabulous self once you arrive.

• How can I get to know the other gals on this trip?

  • Prior to this trip, we will be sending out a Gals Abroad Getaways “Get to Know the Gals” document + some exciting virtual, IRL opportunities to get to know one another before the trip kicks off.

• Do I need to purchase travel insurance?

  • Yes, everyone will be required to purchase travel insurance for this trip. In order for pre-existing conditions to be covered, this insurance must be purchased no later than 7 days from the date of initial deposit. When you are confirmed for the trip, Scorby Travel & Cruise (Linda’s travel agency) will follow up with insurance options and costs. Travel insurance allows you to seek reimbursement for your trip costs if your plans change for unforeseeable reasons or if you need medical help/emergency transport or experience theft, loss or damage of items while traveling. 

• Is there a minimum number of participants required to run the trip?

  • Yes. We require a minimum of 10 travelers to run the India portion of the trip and 8 travelers to run the Dubai portion. If we do not meet the minimum, the per-person cost is subject to increase by a nominal amount. If this occurs, we will reach out to each traveler to inform them of the additional cost.

• What happens if the tour is postponed?

  • If this trip needs to be canceled for any COVID-19 reasons, we will reschedule this itinerary to a future date OR your funds will be applied to a future Gals Abroad Getaways trip.

• Is there a waiting list?

  • There will be a waiting list that will run on a first-come, first-served basis in the event of a space opening up. If this particular trip is full, and you’re still interested in coming, please send an email to galsabroadgetaways@gmail.com to be added to the waiting list
